Almost all smartphone brands, Xiaomi is constantly updating its End of Support (EOS) product list page — the kind of list you wouldn’t want to see your smartphone on.

As the name suggests, being on the End of Support product list page means that it will no longer receive major software updates, and worse, security patches. It’s essentially a way brands nudge you to finally upgrade as you’re now more susceptible to cyberattacks.

That said, Xiaomi recently added 10 poor smartphones to its End of Support list. So if you own any of these devices, it might be time to finally upgrade or be extra cautious about what you download online.

If you’re knowledgeable, you can get around it by installing a custom ROM. But then again, it’s quite complicated and you may risk bricking your phone if you’re not familiar with the process.
