BDO Securities sent out an email to its customers notifying them that they will drop the use of the OTP generator.
The announcement was made in the wake of the recent hacking fiasco that its mobile banking arm experienced. Bear in mind that it’s BDO Securities that are dropping the OTP generator and not BDO Online Banking.

Starting January 30, 2022, BDO Securities One-Time Password (OTP) can only be requested via SMS. That’s for both the desktop and mobile app. The company is encouraging its users to ensure that their registered mobile number is updated.
If your app is not updated yet, BDO said that you should disregard the OTP generator button that may still be present in the app. Failure to do so, and if you attempt to use it three times, your account will be locked and you will have to reset your password via BDO Online Banking.
