As part of its initiative in helping the Filipinos in their daily lives, Cherry Mobile, the leading local technology giant, teamed up with the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) and PHAR Philippines – an international media and marketing agency – to install charging kiosks at select LRT-1 stations.
“We wanted to continuously value their lifestyle and ensure that we are making things easier for them by installing charging stations that could be of help as they go about their daily commute.” shares Michelle Ngu-Cinco, Chief Operating Officer of Cherry Mobile.
Since last week, the commuting public can now charge their mobile phones and devices, regardless the brand, at different LRT-1 stations provided they bring their own charging cables. It won’t cost the commuters anything, as it will be provided for free by Cherry Mobile.
LRMC President and Chief Executive Officer Juan Alfonso says that this move “is a necessary step to making Metro Manila a truly modern, smart city.”
Cherry Mobile will also be hosting mini concerts in select stations on August 17, 24, and 31.
The Cherry Mobile charging kiosks are now available at Doroteo Jose and Central stations.
