Cherry Mobile’s first wearable device wasn’t so much a smartwatch as a feature phone with a watch strap. But that was last year, and the company has something new to offer for the coming holidays—the Cherry Watch N5. It’s a real smartwatch this time.
Based on the picture above, the Cherry Watch N5 borrows heavily from the Apple Watch. The digital crown and side button are dead giveaways. And then there’s the familiar curves and shape of the watch. Heck, even the design of the watch strap is reminiscent of the sport band variant that Apple offers.
The design may be similar, but the Cherry Watch N5 is a different smartwatch in terms of hardware specs. It’s a budget-friendly wearable tech that features a 1.54-inch IPS display, Bluetooth 3.0 and microSD support up to 32GB. In addition, it offers a smartphone dialer, anti-theft, pedometer and 0.3-megapixel camera. It can also fully function on its own (i.e., no need to pair it with a smartphone), because it accepts a micro-SIM card. And because this is a Cherry Mobile product we’re talking about, Android likely handles the software side of things—to be specific, the smartwatch-optimized Android Wear.
The Cherry Watch N5 has an official price of Php1,999.
