DJI has proven themselves once again as the king of consumer drones. With the new DJI Mavic 2 series, the company wants to improve your aerial photography and videography, whether you’re just a casual traveler or a professional content creator.

Just recently, DJI launched not one, but two new Mavic drones — the new DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom. These new drones can shoot ultra-sharp 4K videos with a 100Mbps maximum bitrate under a detailed H.265 compression. This allows you to have great flexibility in color grading in editing.

Photographers would also love the new Mavic drones as they have enhanced High Dynamic Range capabilities.

DJI also made the Mavic 2 drones smarter as you can now choose between different flight mode such as Free piloting, have it automatically flight in a circular pattern, Course Lock, and customize your own waypoints.

Both the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom also has ten sensors that are rigged all over it for improved obstacle detection.  The new drones can also fly faster at 44mph and has a longer flight time of 32 minutes.

The DJI Mavic 2 Pro brags a camera that’s been co-engineered by Hasselblad. It has a 1-inch CMOS sensor that can record 10-bit Dlog-m color profile, which provides flatter colors for better flexibility in post.

It can also take 20-megapixel aerial pictures with Hasselblad’s Natural Color Solution technology. The aperture can be adjusted from f/2.8 up to f/11 and has 4k 10-bit HDR support.

On the other hand, the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom sports a 24-48mm focal length that provides a 2x optical zoom. It can also add 2x digital zoom for a 4x lossless Full HD resolution capture.

This allows users to frame their shots better, without the need to get closer to the subject. This also unlocks its Dolly Zoom feature, which provides a Parallax shot effect that we only see in movies.

The Mavic 2 Zoom has a hybrid auto-focus system that combines both phase and contrast detection for better accuracy. It can take 12-megapixel photos, which can be bumped up to 48-megapixels with its Super resolution feature.
