HMD announced last September that it will start making its own branded phones soon. Now, that time has arrived as they’ve started rebranding.
Called the Human Mobile Devices (HMD Global), the company will start producing phones without the Nokia Mobile branding and has taken over Nokia’s social media pages. The company has shared the news while teasing the first line of smartphones under their name.
HMD’s first parade of products is expected to cover pretty much all bases: smartphones, tablets, and wireless earphones, which are expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, happening from February 26 to 29.
But, the company’s website states that they are the “Makers of Nokia Phones”, hinting that they will still make Nokia-branded feature phones — which includes an updated Nokia 3310 with 5G.
