HONOR Philippines reinstated that their latest flagship phone, the Magic7 Pro, will receive 7 years of software updates.
This is in line with the announcement of the HONOR ALPHA PLAN at MWC 2025 in March. HONOR said that it will offer 7 years of Android OS upgrades and security updates to the flagship HONOR Magic series.
The implementation will start with the HONOR Magic7 Pro, which currently runs on Android 15-based MagicOS 9. This move will extend the lifespan of the devices, thus reducing e-waste as the company pushes for sustainability.
For a quick recap, the Magic7 Pro has an advanced camera setup led by a 200-megapixel telephoto lens and a 50-megapixel main shooter with a variable aperture of f/1.4-2.0.
It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, with 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. There’s a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED screen on the front, and a large 5,850mAh battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
