Everything is pretty much set for the Huawei Mate 20 series’ release next month. A few days back, the Kirin 980 processor, which will be powering the upcoming devices, has been introduced. And now, we get a glimpse of the EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9 Pie software that they will also come with.

Since it’s based on Android’s newest release, the EMUI 9.0 will have a slew of improvements in terms of performance, gaming, user-experience, and more.

Huawei also streamlined the EMUI’s look to comply with Android 9 Pie’s simplified interface. The EMUI 9 will pick where the EMUI 8 left off, but will now have new visuals, lighter colors, and consistency on its overall look and feel.

The settings app has also been simplified and will now allow you to easily see the options that you need to access. Huawei’s native apps now have the tabs and options relocated at the bottom, so you can easily reach it with your thumb.

Huawei also added the gesture navigation feature of the Android 9 Pie to the EMUI 9. You can swipe up to go back at the home screen, swipe up and hold to see recent apps and more.

In terms of performance, Huawei claims that it can provide a 12.9% smoother experience and up to 16% faster load times in some apps. Plus, the update will come with GPU Turbo 2.0 for an even better gaming experience.

The beta testing has already started for select Huawei and Honor smartphones. It was previously reported that the beta program is only exclusive to 1,500 users in China. But apparently, Huawei has opened 100 slots for each country.

If you weren’t able to make the list, I guess it’s better if you just wait for the final build, which is expected to arrive right after the Huawei Mate 20 series become official.
