WiFi 7 is already here and Huawei Philippines is making it accessible in the country through products and a suite of solutions whose purpose is to boost the various industries’ digitalization, unraveled at the recently-held Huawei Philippines IP Club 2023.

Introducing Huawei’s latest technologies is Huawei Datacom Product Line Chief Technical Officer Hacken Li.

Highlighting the importance of the “IP network,” Li described it as the “bridge for digitalization transformation, constant changes in terminals and applications drive continuous evolution of network.”

Importantly, Li emphasized Huawei’s leadership position, particularly in the areas of cloud network convergence transport, WiFi 7-based 10G campuses, and AI data network centers.

Yet, more importantly, the exec pronounced the company’s offering to provide the best solutions to the Philippine government, enterprises, and educational institutions in a bid to accelerate the country’s digital transformation.

At the center of Huawei’s offering is the industry’s first enterprise flagship WiFi 7 access point AirEngine 8771-X1T, which backs the newly introduced 6 GHz frequency band. Coinciding said frequency band is also the significant expansion to the frequency bandwidth from 160 MHz to 320 MHz.

The main difference between WiFi 7 and WiFi 6, according to Li, is the new spectrum, which comes with a “faster and more reliable data transfer”. It is also “more beautiful and more energy-efficient,” he added.

Citing a specific example, Li said that the new spectrum’s lower latency and better stability are apparent even in “high-density scenarios,” such as stadium-dense deployments. When digital transformation is considered heavily reliant on the quality of the network, Huawei is offering a solution that will significantly benefit the multiple sectors of the industry.
