Intel Corporation revealed its new smart glasses called Vaunt which uses retinal projection to put the display in your eyes.

As seen on The Verge, Vaunt is notably normal looking and light, weighing under 50 grams and has plastic frames. Besides these, there’s more catch to this innovative yet simple looking glass – no camera, no unwanted buttons, and no glowing LCD screens.

“We wanted to make sure somebody puts this on and gets value without any of the negative impact of technology on their head,” Itai Vonshak, head of products for Intel’s New Devices Group said. “Everything from the ground up is designed to make the technology disappear.”

Vaunt’s objective is to allow users to check notifications through Bluetooth which can be linked to your smartphone. It also houses a processor for apps, a compass, and accelerometer (so Vaunt can tell which way you might be looking). Programs and applications will still run from the smartphone, but some can be powered by the glasses itself.

Vaunt needs to be custom made and the process includes measuring the pupillary distance and program the measurements into a prototype.

Nevertheless, the product is premature and could still go into different ways.
