At KFC, some people don’t like to use spoon and fork. The chicken and fries are just too finger-licking good for eating utensils. Some people just can’t help but access their Facebook accounts while eating too, which is why the food chain has come up with the KFC Tray Typer.

It’s basically a thin Bluetooth keyboard underneath the tray paper. It’s claimed to be durable enough to be covered with grease and be wiped down for reuse.

But, no, our local KFC stores in the Philippines don’t have the futuristic Tray Typer. It only appeared during a short advertising campaign in Germany. In fairness, it’d be cool if it came back and we could try it for ourselves. The technology has possible (and more useful) applications besides enabling food/gadget junkies to eat and use their delicate iPhone 6 without smudging the display with chicken grease.
