Besides the 4.7-inch model, Apple has also unveiled a larger phone with a 5.5-inch display. The new iPhone 6 Plus offers a bigger screen real estate, sharper visuals, and thinner profile.

Especially for owners of previous iPhone models, the new size can be intimidating. Fortunately, Apple made several adjustments to the iPhone 6 Plus to help users adapt. For one, the new exterior design uses an aluminum enclosure whose surface is seamless and continuous with the glass display. That should make the device comfortable to hold and easy to use despite its immense form. For another, the power button has been relocated to the side to make it easier to reach. A new gesture known as Reachability has also been added to help one-hand operations on such a large display; by touching the home button twice, the whole display slides down.

Most of the other improvements of the iPhone 6 Plus over the iPhone 5S are the same upgrades found in the iPhone 6: the A8 and M8 processors, enhanced 8-megapixel iSight camera, and a more powerful front-facing FaceTime HD camera. There are a few differences, though, including image stabilization (optical on iPhone 6 Plus, digital on iPhone 6).

Both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus also feature a new payment method, called the Apple Pay. Through the built-in NFC antenna, users simply hold the phone up to a nearby checkout scanner and confirm payment by keeping a finger on the TouchID home button. It’s designed to be a faster and easier alternative to using credit cards since users no longer have to input their card and shipping information every time they make a purchase.

Available color choices of the iPhone 6 Plus are gold, silver, and space gray. US pricing (with a two-year contract) is as follows: $299 for 16GB, $399 for 64GB, and $499 for the 128G model. Expect the iPhone 6 Plus to arrive in the Philippines within a couple of months (with a higher price due to taxes).
