With the current Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon, buying food and other essential items has become more difficult than ever. Aside from long queues, the lack of public transportation makes going out a huge burden to many Filipinos.

Here’s some good news: e-commerce website Lazada announced that consumers may now purchase essential goods in its mobile application or website. What’s even great is that people may buy the said items on credit for 0% interest through Lazada Loan.

To apply for Lazada Loan, make sure to first enroll your Lazada Wallet. You may then choose which company to get your loan.


For instance, financial companies such as Billease and TendoPay allow zero-percent interest (0%) from April 1 to 15. Using Billease as an example, you may loan as much as Php30,000 payable for three months.

In case the zero percent loan is not available, you may opt for other companies that offer interest for as low as 3.49%. This includes Pera247, PondoPeso, Atome, PeraJet, and PayLater.

Note that each financial companies provide varying loan terms and processing fees. Moreover, they have the discretion to approve or reject your application.

Meanwhile, under DTI guidelines, essential goods refer to fresh meat, vegetable, canned goods, personal care, alcohol, sanitizers, vitamins, supplements, baby care, beverages, household supplies, laundry and cleaning equipment, and pet care.
