Google announced earlier today Android Wear, the project that will push Android and Google services to smartwatches. In a nutshell, it means that the smartwatch game just got really serious.
During the unveiling, Google also mentioned that they already partnered with companies like LG, HTC, Motorola, and Fossil for their future watches. Now, LG finally took the wraps off the LG G Watch, their first ever smartwatch.
The G Watch news spread immediately after the introduction of Google’s Android Wear, making it the first ever device to use the system. Meanwhile, Motorola also announced their own smartwatch called Motorola 360.
The specifications are not yet revealed, so we’re going to watch out for that in the coming weeks. Apparently, LG is looking into a “low barrier to entry” type of device so this can possibly be competitively priced.
