For the first time ever, there will be an official Philippine coverage to Valve’s largest Dota 2 tournament.
Two Filipino teams are flying to Seattle to battle it out against other world class teams to get the much coveted “The International” championship. “Execration” and “TNC Pro Team” Dota 2 teams have both qualified for the said tournament after winning the South East Asia qualifiers. They’ve managed to defeat their SEA rivals to claim their spot in the tournament. The two teams have faced issues in obtaining their US VISAs, but eventually got it just intime to keep their TI dreams up.
The Philippines is slowly building its reputation in the eSports and Dota 2 industry. We’ve been the host for the recent ESL One and Manila Major held this year.
With the VISAs secured, the two Filipino teams are set to compete in the biggest Dota 2 stage. Veteran Dota 2 casters Marlon “Lon” Marcelo and Aldrin “Dunoo” Pangan will be joining the tournament as the representatives for the official Philippine coverage of MineskiTV.
Lon and Dunoo will be bringing their unique style of funny and hype-filled casting with a bunch of witty words and explanation of things happening in the game. It’s so much fun to watch than the average English casts, as it incorporates the happy Filipino vibe we always enjoy. I personally look forward in watching them cast the most awaited Dota 2 eSports tournament of the year with more than 19 million USD prize pool and counting. Let’s support the Philippine teams!
