The Nokia 3 is finally getting a much-awaited software update.
Announced back in 2017, the Nokia 3 shipped with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. It was then updated to 8.0 Oreo earlier this year. But now, the device is stepping another level as it gets a taste of Android 8.1 Oreo.
It’s still not Android 9 Pie, but it’s nice to know that HMD Global and Nokia still haven’t forgotten this device. Hopefully, the Nokia 3 will also get the Android Pie update in the near future, just like what it’s newer brothers are.
Since the Nokia 3 runs on a stock-Android interface, you can fully immortalize all of the new features that Android introduced on the 8.1 version. There’s the redesigned power menu, ambient display, notification dots, and more.
Besides the actual Android 8.1 Oreo features, the update will also bring the latest December 2018 security patches on the said device.
The update was spotted on a device overseas. So if you’re device handset hasn’t notified you with the update yet, you just have to wait for a couple days as it usually rolls out gradually in different markets.
