Nokia has a brand new entry-level smartphone with the G50 5G.

The Nokia G50 5G is for those who want a budget phone with an enormous screen. Its 6.81-inch display makes it one of the largest in its category. Albeit, it only has an HD+ resolution, so sharpness is not the best.

Like the X10 and X20, the G50 gets its 5G connectivity from the Snapdragon 480 chipset — one of the cheapest processors with the latest connectivity standard.

Besides 5G, the latest chip brings WiFi 6 connectivity on the device. USB Type-C and NFC are also on board.

Like its cousins, Nokia promises long after-sales support on the G50 5G. It will get 2 years of major OS updates and 3 years of monthly security patches. It ships with Android 11 out of the box.

Nokia could’ve used a larger battery on this enormous device but instead settled with a still-respectable 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging.

The Nokia G50 5G starts at EUR270 (around Php16,100) and will be available in select markets this October.
