OnePlus has announced a program that will aid users affected by the green-line issue on their AMOLED phones.

The said problem has been widely reported among users. The company is calling the program OnePlus Green Line Worry-Free Solution, a three-step plan to tackle the issue.

Apparently, the issue is a combination of different factors rather than a single cause. OnePlus will address the issue by enhancing the display structure, conducting rigorous quality control checks, and providing extended warranty display to users.

Let’s dissect this, shall we? For the first step, OnePlus will add an Enhanced Edge Bonding Layer to all its AMOLED displays. It uses a PVX edge-sealing material that acts as a barrier and will dramatically slow down moisture and oxygen penetration over time.

Secondly, OnePlus will start conducting a more rigorous quality control check with over 180 tests to simulate extreme real-world scenarios. The screens will also go through the company’s Double 85 test which will subject it to 85°C heat and 85% humidity.

Finally, OnePlus will start offering a lifetime warranty for the green line issue on all its smartphones, new and old, making them the first brand to do it.
