Another line of Xiaomi POCO phones is on the horizon as the official launch date for the new X5 5G and X5 Pro 5G has been confirmed.

On its social media pages, the Xiaomi sub-brand confirmed that the new POCO X5 5G and X5 Pro 5G will be introduced on February 6, 2023 at 20:00 GMT+8, via an Online Launch Event streaming on the brand’s Facebook and Twitter pages, YouTube channel, and the POCO store.

Like their predecessors, the new line is going to be fancy midrangers. The X5 Pro is rumored to have a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G as the processor. It is said to be available in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB RAM and storage configurations and will run on Android 12-based MIUI 14 for POCO.

It will also boast a 108-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel macro, and a 16-megapixel camera on the front. It’s also expected to have an IP68 protection rating, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, a 5,000mAh battery, and 67W wired charging.

Meanwhile, the cheaper POCO X5 5G is rumored to have a similar display and battery capacity, but only with a Snapdragon 695 CPU. The main and front cameras were also dropped to 48-megapixel and 13-megapixel, respectively. The charging speed is now only at 33W.

These leaked specs, as well as their official prices, shall be confirmed once the X5 and X5 Pro 5G are launched on February 6.
