We’re still a couple of months away will Qualcomm’s next flagship chip, possibly named the Snapdragon 895 series, comes out. But as early as now, we’re already hearing rumors about it.

This latest one claims that the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 895 will be fabbed by Samsung‘s 4nm node, while the subsequent Snapdragon 895 Plus will use TSMC‘s 4nm node.

If you remember, the Snapdragon 865 is using TSMC’s N7P process, a second-gen 7nm technology. They then switched to Samsung for the Snapdragon 888, while the latest Snapdragon 888 Plus uses Samsung 5nm mode.

The ones that will be used on the upcoming Snapdragon 895 and 895 Plus are refinements of those 5nm nodes. But, expect them to have better performance and power efficiency, to which the details are yet to be revealed.

As for the release dates of the chips, we expect to have the same timeline as the previous releases. The vanilla Snapdragon 895 will come out as early as December this year or January of next year. Meanwhile, the Plus variant may arrive about six months later.
