Qualcomm unveils its latest chipset aimed for the wearables.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 1100 is made for targeted-purpose wearables. It includes support for kids smartwatches, elderly location and assistance, smart headsets, and fitness trackers among other wearable devices.It comes with WiFi and Bluetooth support, as well as Qualcomm’s iZat integrated location engine.
There’s a low-power feature like called Power Save Mode, next gen Cat 1 modem that supports LTE and 3G global bands, and voice commands.
Mediatek previously announced their own chipset for wearables, but it’s not picking up as fast as it should because of the slow growth of the wearable market.
Snapdragon Wear 110 is now available and Qualcomm has partnered with some companies to showcase the capabilities of its processor for wearables.
