Realme announced that its upcoming flagship, the GT 2 Pro, will be one of the first to use the latest high-end chip from Qualcomm.

The upcoming Realme GT 2 Pro is confirmed to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, a successor to the Snapdragon 888 found on last gen’s Realme GT.

This latest chip is built on a 4nm process and has an ARMv9 design. It features a Cortex-X2 primary core clocked at 3GHz, three Cortex-A710 performance cores at 2.5GHz, and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The chip is said to be 20% faster and consumes 30% less power.

Qualcomm also rigged it with a new Adreno GPU that’s 30% more powerful and 25% more power-efficient. Also included are the integrated X65 5G modem and Trust Management Engine for security.

Other than the chip, the rest of the specs and features of the Realme GT 2 Pro are yet to be known. However, it’s rumored to have a 6.51-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage, 125W fast charging, 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, and 32-megapixels for selfies.

The official release date for this device is yet to be confirmed.
