Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Redmi, is adding more devices in its portfolio with the upcoming release of the Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition.
As the name suggests, the Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition will share some of the key specifications with the vanilla Redmi K30. A front photo of the device was displayed in the event poster on Redmi’s Weibo page.. It shows an almost-bezel-less screen like the Redmi K30, with a wide punch-hole on the top right for the dual selfie cameras.
The post also reveals that the Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition will be released in China on May 11 at 2PM.
It will go on sale at JD.com, which have already revealed the key specifications of this device.
It appears that it will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G 5G processor. It’s not clear if this is a typo error for a Snapdragon 765G, or if a new Snapdragon midrange processor is really on its way.
The device will also have least 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

On the back, we have a 64-megapixel main shooter, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and 5-megapixel macro camera. No mention of the front camera specifications, but we expect it to have the same 20-megapixel and 2-megapixel (depth sensor) setup as the former.
Probably the Speed Edition’s biggest difference over the initial model is its fast 120Hz refresh rate. Clearly justifies the device’s new name.
