The new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 has been introduced with a thinner and lighter design, better processor, camera, and, sadly, a higher price tag.
Powering the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 is the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. The chipset is now cooled by a vapor chamber and is well-equipped to handle AI tasks like Suggested Replies, Chat Assist, Circle to Search, Live Translate, Transcript Assist, and FlexCam which automatically zooms in/out when shooting hands-free.
Samsung has also upgraded the main 50-megapixel camera that can now do 2x lossless zoom. It also has 10x AI zoom and is joined by the same 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 10-megapixel selfie snapper.
The main 6.7-inch FHD+ foldable display now uses an LTPO AMOLED panel with a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The cover screen is still a 3.4-inch panel with a 720p resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 1600 nits of peak brightness.
For the build, the sixth Galaxy Z Flip is now slightly thinner thanks to the optimized hinge. It is also IP48 dust and water-resistant, and uses a durable Armor Aluminum frame and Corning Gorilla Glass VIctus 2.
It also has a bigger 4,000mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. Possibly its most interesting feature is the guarantee to receive 7 years of major OS upgrades and security patches.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 now starts at Php70,990 (12GB/256GB) in the Philippines. That’s Php5,000 higher than its predecessor. The 12GB/512GB comes in at Php78,990. It is now up for pre-order and will be available starting July 31.
