Samsung is gearing up on their upcoming launch of the Tizen-based smartphone, touted as the Samsung Z1.

The handset looks like a typical low-end smartphone bearing a 4-inch WVGA screen and an unidentified 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 768MB of RAM. A decent 4GB of internal storage is also on board and is expandable – something we expect from Samsung. It packs a 1,500mAh battery to power it up.

It also has 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, FM Radio and GPS – basically all the typical smartphone connectivity. There’s also a 3-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front shooter.

Samsung is said to be launching the device on the 16th of January and will be made available in India before going to other China and South Korea. The price is believed to be around ~$90 (Php4,000).
