In a media sit-down last April 25, one of Southeast Asia’s leading cashback platforms, ShopBack, shared with the member of the press a glimpse of the projects they have planned for this year to carry on their momentum and to give users a much better shopping experience.
As a start, ShopBack shared their milestone from the previous year. As per the company, they gained Php1 billion in GMV (General Merchandise Value) per month and users across the platform collectively withdrew Php10 million monthly in cashback.
The company also teamed up with over 600 merchants across the Philippines to ensure that they are well equipped to cater to 5.5 million Filipino users.

When asked how ShopBack aims to improve its services to its users, Commercial Director Timothy Tuason said:
We look at the data and we also see what is the basket size per user. By observing this, we can then now retarget specific deals, and specific campaigns, because there are certain brands that may not relate the same things to a different type of basket size. So, we make sure we retarget specific campaigns to people we know that have this amount of spending power.
Tuason added that understanding those types of behaviors and making sure they “shoot out is what really matters” to them. For the company, it’s “all about providing the opportunity to the users to be able to make their shopping experience better.”
Moreover, ShopBack announced its latest projects, which include the upcoming launch of ShopBack Travel Club this May. Also revealed was the launch of the ShopBack Travel and Lifestyle Fair. Plus, the celebration of the company’s 8th anniversary from June 21 to 28.
The new addition to ShopBack’s expanding in-app features aims to cater to users who are in search of a smart and rewarding way to book travel. As per Tuason, the travel category is where users look forward the most in terms of getting the best deal.
With new services in tow, ShopBack is confident that it will continue its success in the years to come.
