The e-commerce category in the Philippines is starting to heat up as Temu quietly set up shop in the country to take on Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok Shop.
For a quick background, Temu is a Chinese-owned online marketplace now operating in 38 countries — including the United States — with the Philippines the first in the many Southeast Asian markets it will try to penetrate.
Just like its launches in other markets, Temu Philippines is offering up to 90% off on select items. The store’s official website is now up, as well as the official apps for iOS and Android.
Temu also highlights special features like free returns within 90 days and price adjustments within 30 days.
We’re getting a similar look and vibe from Lazada and Shopee after taking a quick tour of Temu. There are limited-time “Lightning deals” on the home page; and different types of promo categories like “All under Php100”, “72-hour hot sale”, and more.
The product selection is also similar. There are household items below Php100 and categories like men and women’s clothing, gardening, toys, gadgets, and more.
Moreover, the layout of each item page is also similar to Shopee’s, with customer reviews at the bottom, which may come from buyers from different countries where Temu is available. We also found that J&T Express fulfills the deliveries.
We expect to hear more from Temu Philippines from now on, so stay tuned for that.
