Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, announced that his electric vehicle company is taking a big step forward in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is about to launch a humanoid robot prototype by 2022.
When the images of the upcoming robot were revealed, social media went nuts, reminding people of dystopian movies of the future when cyborgs have taken over the world.
Known as “Tesla Bot,” it has been designed specifically for repetitive, dangerous, and monotonous activities people do not enjoy.

Musk said the robot will have “profound implications for the economy” and will help alleviate labor possible shortages. He also mentioned that the Tesla Bot is not “super expensive.”
In addition to lifting heavy objects, the Tesla Bot humanoid model would be capable of carrying out household chores as well.
During the presentation, Musk also introduced an actor in a bodysuit, resembling the robot, who showed off some sweet dance moves.
Tesla also introduced Dojo, a high-speed computer with in-house designed chips to help develop its automated driving system. Musk said Dojo would be operational next year. It is expected to be operational in 2022.
