Vivo is starting to send out media invites for the upcoming launch of the production version of the Apex concept smartphone they first introduced last February.

Some of the highlights of the Apex smartphone include an edge-to-edge display and a pop-up selfie camera. Another feature is the in-display fingerprint scanner, which can detect and authenticate the users by simply putting their fingers on the lower half portion of the display. The company also claims that it has the “world’s best” screen-to-body ratio.

In a Vivo advertisement in the FIFA World Cup 2018, the company teased the upcoming smartphone by revealing its notch-less and bezel-less display. They also showcased the retractable front-facing camera which rises up from within the device itself. Meanwhile, the in-display fingerprint sensor wasn’t included in the video, but Vivo already got it working on the X21, so it should work flawlessly as well.

Several weeks ago, Lenovo also recently teased an all-screen smartphone with 95 percent screen-to-body ratio. A lot of smartphone manufacturers right call their products all-screen, but none of them can truly claim the title of becoming the first true all-display phone because of the notch.
