Microsoft has built a Windows App for iPhones, iPads, Macs, PCs, and can be even accessed on web browsers. The preview version is now up, but not yet on Android.
Now, you might be wondering, what does the Windows App do? A whole operating system within an app? Well, it’s basically the previous Windows 365 app that’s evolved into a central hub that allows you to stream a copy of Windows via a remote PC, Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Dev Box, and Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Services.
Windows App also supports multiple monitors, scaling and custom display resolutions, and device redirection so you can use it with peripherals like printers, webcams, and even storage devices.

The service is currently limited to Microsoft business accounts, however, the sign-in prompt does suggest that users can eventually use it for a personal Microsoft account.
This isn’t the first time such a feature exists from Microsoft. But, calling it the “Windows App” signals the brand’s bigger ambitions to fully move Windows to the cloud, which improves accessibility for non-PC devices.
