As the year is about to set, we’re starting to see leaks and rumors about upcoming flagships next year. One of them just got an official release date, the Xiaomi Mi 11 series.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 series will make its official debut on December 28, 2020, capping off Xiaomi’s year with a flagship launch. A poster published on their official Weibo page reveals that the event will happen in China at 7:30 PM — the same time here in the Philippines, albeit the global release date is yet to be revealed.
So, what can we expect from the Mi 11 series? Well, for starters, they should come in two flavors just like last time: there’s the vanilla Xiaomi Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro.
Both Xiaomi and Qualcomm also announced that the Mi 11 series would be the first devices powered by the latest Snapdragon 888 flagship processor. The same chipset we’ll see in most flagships next year.
The device is also expected to come with a sharp QHD+ screen, an upgrade to the FHD+ panels that other Mi flagships have. It shall also have a fast 120Hz refresh rate, smooth 240Hz touch sampling, and HDR10+, just like the Mi 10 Ultra. Having a 120W wired and 50W wireless fast charging is also plausible.
They should also sport 50-megapixel main cameras, with the Pro model having an extra 12-megapixel telephoto lens. It should also ship with Android 11-based MIUI 12 update out of the box.
We’ll have more details about this device once it’s out.
