Earlier than its official release, an image of Samsung’s next flagship phone has been circulating online.
Evan Blass, @evleaks, posted on Twitter the first photo of Galaxy S8, saying that it will be launched this March 29.
From the photo, S8 and S7’s rear looks very similar. However, the front of the device is something else. Not a physical button is present, and so is the touch-sensitive navigation. All of these are replaced by a curved display that reaches every end.
According to reports by Venture Beat, Galaxy S8 will be having two screen sizes ( 5.8 and 6.2 inches). Its huge “infinity display” screen has an aspect ratio of 18:5:9. With this, S8 will feel like last year’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

A button specifically made for activating Samsung’s own virtual assistant Bixby is present as well. Through the acquisition of Viv Labs last 2016, Samsung’s Bixby is said to understand and hand more complex commands compared to other virtual assistants. Galaxy S8’s camera will remain the same as that of last year, but new software features were added. The iris scanner, present in the Note 7, will also be in Galaxy S8.
The price of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is yet to be announced, but speculations say that it might be higher than the price of last year’s Galaxy S7. Galaxy S8 will be shown to the world on March 29 with a worldwide release date on April 21.
