It looks like HMD Global is starting the 2018 right. Judging by the recent leaks, the upcoming Nokia 9 is going to be a stunner.
The Nokia 9 went to 3C and FCC to gather some required permits, and as to how it usually goes, it got us a sneak peek of the hardware before it gets official.
As per the leaked documents and a render that appeared on Weibo, Nokia is finally adopting the 18:9 aspect ratio screen that became a trend in 2017. The said screen will be an LG OLED panel with a screen size of 5.5-inches.

The render also suggests that it will have two 5-megapixel cameras in front with an auto-focus feature, as well as f/2.0 and f/2.4 aperture, respectively. The larger aperture shooter can also take videos of up to 1080p resolution, while the sensor at the back will have a 12-megapixel + 13-megapixel dual camera configuration.
It also appears that the Nokia 9 was developed way back as it only sports the Snapdragon 835, instead of the newly announced Snapdragon 845. A chipset that we expect to see on most of the upcoming flagships in 2018.
Although the RAM capacity was not mentioned, the leaked data suggests that it will have 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage from Samsung plus a 3250mAh battery.
And since one of Nokia’s top priority is software updates, the Nokia 9 will run on Android 8.0 Oreo.
Reports suggest that we might officially see the Nokia 9 as early as January 9th of next year.
