It’s been almost a year since the Mi 6 has been released, so Xiaomi is already due for a refresh on their flagship line. And if this new leak is to be believed, Xiaomi might be already wrapping up the development for the aptly called device, the Xiaomi Mi 7.
The information has been spotted on GeekBench, a popular benchmarking app. The device in subject is codenamed as “Xiaomi Dipper”. If we follow the Mi-series’ history, the company is keen on using constellations as a secret term for their upcoming Mi smartphones.
The Mi 6 used to be called as Sagit during its development. Both the Mi 5s Plus and Mi 5s also had a nickname called Natrium and Capricorn. And now, Dipper — a.k.a the Big Dipper in astronomy — can possibly be the next Xiaomi flagship.

You can also tell that it is Xiaomi’s next big device judging by the processor that it comes with. GeekBench hasn’t revealed much, but it does say that it will sport the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset.
It’s an octa-core processor with a base clock of 1.77GHz. We can also spot the 6GB of RAM being listed and an Android 8.0 Oreo operating system as a cherry on top.
The device has a single-core score of 2,449 and a multi-core score of 8,309. That’s noticeably better than the Mi 6’s grades, which were only 1,904 and 6,155, respectively.
