Samsung Galaxy J2 2018

Samsung clearly dominated the high-end Android smartphone space this year. While the low-end sector isn’t really their domain, that didn’t stop the company from trying.

The Galaxy J2 Prime was one of the crowd favorites earlier this year. And with this latest leaks, it looks like they are about to follow it up with the rumored Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018).

As expected, the upcoming Galaxy J2 will have nothing but the most basic set of features. It is said to have a 5-inch qHD SuperAMOLED screen. And before you call me crazy, qHD stands for 960 x 540 pixel resolution.

Under the hood is a Snapdragon 425 chipset, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a small, but thankfully removable, 2600mAh battery.

Samsung was also able to cram in an 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel one in front. And lastly, it will come with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, with Samsung’s streamlined interface. We can only hope for Samsung to deliver an Android Oreo update in the future. But considering this is in the budget segment, it surely won’t get it.
