DITO Telecommunity recently announced that it had completed its interconnection with the top telcos in the Philippines, Smart and Globe.
This means that DITO Telecommunity subscribers can now send and receive text and make or receive calls from PLDT’s Smart Communications and Globe Telecom users.
The completion came months after the two giants announced that they have partnered with the third telco for an interconnection deal.
DITO’s interconnection with Smart and Globe is part of a government mandate due to the compulsory interconnection of authorized public telecommunications carriers under the Republic Act 7925

The third telco started its commercial roll-out last March 8 in select areas in Visayas and Mindanao. Now, it’s available in more locations, including select areas in Luzon.
DITO also introduced its Php199 prepaid promo that comes with 25GB of data with unlimited calls and text to DITO for Php199 valid for 30 days. Now that the interconnection is complete, we expect DITO to introduce a prepaid promo with calls and text with Smart and Globe.
