With over 10 million subscribers and more than 5,500 towers as of July 2022, DITO Telecommunity revealed it’s ready to compete head-on against the country’s giants, PLDT and Globe.

Per DITO Chief Technology Officer Rodolfo Santiago, the company is confident in its ability to cover 70 percent of the Philippines’ population, thanks to the number of towers at its disposal.

Additionally, he claims that DITO’s services have now reached 600 cities and municipalities, close to the year-end target of 800.

Adel Tamano, DITO’s Chief Administrative Officer, also said that the accomplishment was not easy and with more funds, the telco would be able to compete with Smart and Globe Telecom.

The CAO attributes the success of DITO to its “superior product” and fair offers, such that it could become the premier telecommunications company in the country.

Further, he alludes to the telco’s rise in the industry as akin to a boxing match where it goes “toe-to-toe” with the two dominating telcos, though suggests it would not be easy.

Recently, DITO unveiled that it’s also working on rolling out a satellite internet service.
