Filipinos are spending more time at home. The country is dealing with an energy crisis and rising fuel costs. At the same time, the government has approved flexible learning and full online classes. Many companies are also keeping work from home arrangements in place.

These changes mean that fast and reliable home internet is no longer just a nice thing to have. It is now a necessity.

Globe has responded by upgrading its GFiber Prepaid service. The company announced that new subscribers can now get internet speeds of up to 300Mbps. That is six times faster than the previous baseline speed of 50Mbps. The installation fee remains the same at Php699. Customers also get 7 days of unlimited internet for free.

The new 300Mbps connection can support up to 15 devices at the same time. That means parents can work remotely or manage online side jobs while children attend online classes, play games, or stream videos. Everyone in the household can stay online without interruptions.

Globe also shared the cost of reloading the service. A 7 day unlimited plan costs Php499, which works out to around Php71 per day. A 30 day plan costs Php1,199, or around Php40 per day.

Globe said its goal is to make high speed internet a standard for every home. With the State of National Energy Emergency and higher fuel prices, staying at home has become more practical for many.
