At 37.64 megabits per second (Mbps) of median download speed, which was posted in Q4 2023, Smart Communications, Inc. maintains its position as the fastest network provider among mobile operators in the Philippines, per Ookla.

Released as Q4 2023 mobile performance report for the Philippines, competing networks Globe Telecom, Inc. and DITO Telecommunity had a median download speed of 26.44 Mbps and 19.74 Mbps, respectively.

Displaying a steady rise in its median download speed across last year, Smart demonstrated an increase from 33.39 Mbps in the first quarter, 35.39 Mbps in the 2nd quarter, and 35.56 Mbps in the third quarter.

Among major cellphone manufacturers, Apple had the fastest median download speed with 51.19 Mbps in the fourth quarter. It is followed by competing brands with their respective record as follows: Samsung (37.76 Mbps), Xiaomi (30.66 Mbps), Huawei (19.98 Mbps), and Infinix (18.90 Mbps).

When it comes to median upload speed, things are slightly different, with Infinix topping the list at 7.49 Mbps, succeeded by Samsung (7.40 Mbps), Xiaomi (7.34 Mbps), Apple (7.13 Mbps), and Huawei (6.05 Mbps).

Just in December 2023, the Philippines had a median download speed of 28.12 Mbps and an upload speed of 6.89 Mbps.
