A variety of products and future plans have been announced during the Mobile World Congress. One of the companies who managed to reveal their technology is TCL and their new Alcatel devices. They unveiled 4 different devices: the Alcatel 1s, 3, 3L, and 3T 10.
Alcatel 1s
The Alcatel 1s is the latest entry from Alcatel that is powered by a Spreadtrum SC9863 chipset ((8xCortex-A55, 1.6 GHz). It also contains 3GB of RAM with a 32GB of expandable storage.
The camera feature received a slight downgrade with the main snapper having 13-megapixels (1/3″, 1.12um, f/2.0) and a 2-megapixels (1/5, 1.65um, f/2.8) secondary shooter. You can tell it’s pretty much of a low resolution; still, it authorizes the same, real-time bokeh features along with a scene detection (9 scenes). Selfie camera is at 5-megapixels (1/5″, 1.12um, f/2.2).
It also has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, FM Radio, and a fingerprint reader mounted on its rear. The Alcatel 1s will be available in Q2 this year with a starting price of EUR109 (~Php6,400).
Alcatel 3
The original Alcatel 3 was released a year ago, but the recently unveiled product shares the same name. It runs on a Snapdragon 439 processor (12nm, 4xCortex-A53 at 2.0GHz + 4xCortex-a53 at 1.45GHz) with 3GB/4GB of RAM, a 32GB/64GB of expandable storage.
It has a dual-camera setup with 13-megapixels and allows post-shot refocus and scene detection with up to 21 different scenes. There’s a single selfie-snapper with 8-megapixels. The Alcatel 3 has what is called a “Super Full View” screen which means a 19.5:9 aspect ratio with a 1560 x 720 panel resolution, a teardrop-style notch, a 149g plastic shell, and is protected by a 2.5D Dragontail screen glass.
Connectivity options are identical to the A1s, but this one includes a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port.
The Alcatel 3 will be available starting Q2 this year with 2 options: EUR159 (~Php9,500) for the 3GB/32GB version, or EUR189 (~Php11,100) for the 4GB/64GB one. The Alcatel 3 will come in 2 color gradients: Blue-Purple and Black-Blue.
Alcatel 3L
The Alcatel 3L is a small step down from the previously discussed Alcatel 3. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 429 chipset (12nm, 4xCortex-A52 at 1.8GHz) with 2GB RAM, and 16GB expandable storage.
The rear camera setup consists of 13-megapixels + 5-megapixels, while the selfie camera is at 8-megapixels. The design very much similar to the A3 — having the same body and plastic built as well as the same connectivity features.
Alcatel 3L will come in Anthracite Black or Metallic Blue with a retail price of EUR139 (~Php8,200) available in Q2 this year.
Alcatel 3T 10
The “T” on the Alcatel 3T 10 might probably mean ‘Tablet’, but hey, we can only guess! The chipset is undisclosed for this one, but it does have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage, running on 4,080mAh battery.
However, the main feature for the 3T 10 is its audio features. One is an AW8738 amplifier. There is also a DSP far-field voice recognition for up to 3 meters. You could attach an optional SK8088G speaker which has a body size of 185 x 67mm, made with nice fabric, has a Bluetooth 4.2 and 3.5mm jack, and contains a 2,000 mAh battery.
