It’s Halloween and Google announced a huge treat for Android users. Android 4.4 Kitkat, the next big update after Jelly Bean, has been officially unveiled. The update will be available in the coming weeks. Check out the list of devices that’s scheduled to receive the new Android version.
Obviously, Nexus devices are on the forefront of the list together with the Galaxy S4 and HTC One Google Edition smartphones. We’ve listed them down below.
- Nexus 4
- Nexus 7
- Nexus 7 2013
- Nexus 10
- Samsung Galaxy S4 GE
- HTC One GE
HTC also made a statement that Android 4.4 will come to US and international versions of the One in no less than 90 days. That’s a great feat if that happens as scheduled. Samsung still has no specific timeframe for the international Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 but we’re sure they’re working hard to match or even surpass HTC’s claim. LG G2 will definitely be updated but we can’t guess when knowing LG’s bad history of software updates.
it’s really surprising that android is officially branded. i though it was just a gossip before. FAVORITE CHOCOLATE ON MY PHONE? cute..
Somewhat surprising that they didn’t include the Galaxy Nexus when one of the features that Google touted with 4.4 is better performance on low end devices.
Yes, that’s really unfortunate. According to Google, 18 months na lang daw ang software update support for Nexus devices.
