In case you missed it, Cherry Mobile recently launched what is expected to be one of their most anticipated lineup of phones for 2013, the Cosmos X, Cosmos X2, Cosmos S and Cosmos Z. Of the four phones, the Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2 is the most aesthetically appealing. It features a curved design that is reminiscent of the Galaxy S3 or S4 and could even be mistaken for one at first glance because of its gorgeous 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED screen.
However, it’s not all about aesthetics, as the Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2 features a 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6589 SoC that comes with a very capable PowerVR SGX544. You also get 1Gb RAM, 16Gb internal storage and Android 4.2 out of the box. You even get an 18mp BSI autofocus primary camera and 5mp front camera just for good measure. And it’s all powered by a 2,200mAh battery.
One thing I like about the Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2 is that it doesn’t make any major compromises like the other three phones in the Cosmos line do. The Cosmos X only has 4Gb of storage, the Cosmos S has a non-removable battery, and the Cosmos Z only has a 2,000mAh battery to power its Full HD screen. The only compromise the Cherry Mobile Cosmos X2 makes when it comes to specs is the 5mp front camera when the other three sport 8mp cameras, and who needs the entire 8 megapixels for selfies anyway? I don’t anticipate it to be the most popular of the four when they come out, but its balanced specs make it a strong contender for your money.
