Cherry Mobile is really on a roll, and there’s no sign of stopping. Along with the Cherry Mobile Omega HD, they surprisingly announced the first ever local quad-core android phone in the Philippine market. Hit the break to know more about the Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0.

Cherry Mobile has hidden the Flame 2.0 under Cherry Mobile Omega HD’s launching event – and just like the Flare Up Event, they surprised us with an awesome android-powered device partnered with an incredibly low price tag. In fact, it’s so low that we thought they’re going nuts! No, not really. But that’s what the majority of us (Pinoys) felt. Now, we’re back to seeing another game-changing smartphone, but the battery dilemma was even more severe than what we’ve expected.

The Flame 2.0 flaunts a 4.5-inch qHD IPS display with One Glass Solution technology which is already above average if we’ll take the current competition as comparison. Time flies fast and it seems like it was just yesterday when we were astonished by the ultra-affordable android phones with WVGA displays. But as time pass by, people grew excited on the pixel density war – wanting the highest ppi they could get their hands to. Only a few select pinoy android phones have qHD displays and we’re fortunate enough to have another one on the list.

Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0 features a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 (not Pro) processor and 1GB of RAM – the most awaited specs configuration that we’ve all been waiting for. We first thought that local quad-core phones will make their way on our marketplace by Q3, but Cherry Mobile pulled another trick to bring it earlier than our calculation. It will be here by as early as next month, though we still have doubts on it’s nationwide availability after its official release then. After all, they haven’t deployed enough Cherry Mobile Fusion Bolt units yet that’s why it’s still not available on most CM kiosks and retailers. But we’re still hopeful that they would address that stock issues here in Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0 and Omega HD.

Other highlights of the smartphone is its 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and VGA front camera which has a   Dual-camera mode that can also be seen on the newly announced Galaxy S4. So what’s with the Dual-camera mode? Well, it’s one nifty feature that lets your rear and front camera take photos simultaneously together and overlay it on top of the other. The usual connectivity options are here as well such as Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS, and Bluetooth.

If you think that the battery life of the Cherry Mobile Flare is horrible, then you will be very upset to know that despite being a quad-core android phone, the battery capacity is left out. The Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0 only has a 1600mAh battery – which is pretty low in today’s standards. Gone were the days that all android phones couldn’t last a day of moderate usage. Manufacturers learned through their mistakes – but not of all them. Anyway, for its price of only Php6,999, that’s one of the best deals you can get.

Cherry Mobile Flame 2.0 will be available next month with a price tag of Php6,999. What do you think? Is the poor battery capacity a deal breaker for you? Or is it a decent trade-off for the better CPU and RAM? Let us know in the comments!

    1. Actually kahit sa Dual Core mo xa iplay smooth yun,, Where talking about quadcore with 1g Ram,, So super smooth yun.. You can Play N.O.V.A smoothly on this phone..

Disappointed customer :(

    1. Maganda naman yung product . Im an iPhone user yet love CM Flame 2.0 . Sulit ang pera . The only thing that disappoint me in this product is its battery. Its weak . I have to recharge twice a day .

  3. The specs are great. Di na masama yung sa battery kasi nga MAY LIBRENG POWER BANK. :)

Before I was heading for the Omega HD, but I think I’ll be buying this instead.

    1. saan ka nakabili na may free? magkano? may sale pa ba na 5999 worth na lang sya? ano mas makapal, flare o flame 2? ang kapal pala kasi ng flare. hindi pogi.

  4. bought this flame 2.0 a week ago. just wondering if anyone of you experienced a somehow “difficulty” in the phone’s touchscreen effectiveness? may time kc na parang mahirap pindutin ung spacebar and ung ibang keys sa lower row.. Thank you..

    1. I haven’t yet experienced that . My Flame 2.0 would celebrate its 1 month birthday on my hand on June 4 and haven’t yet experienced any issues :))

    1. Puro ka lait kuda k ng kuda, bka wala k lng pambili ng flame2.0 ?? Show me ur 7k and pambili pa ng jellycase at masmataas na sdcard. Ako ngaun 32gb

      1. Balak ko bumili pero nakaka duda ang adreno 203.
Hindi HD gaming yan. Run mo ang Real racing 3, gapang yan.

        1. Tried your Real Racing 3 . I haven’t experienced any “gapang” you said . The only issue was the battery drained so fast than expected, but can handle it through a spare battery or powerbank or maybe an AC outlet :))

          1. ito first choice ko. kaso masyadong mababa ang 1.6k mah para i consume ng quad processor. tapos taas pa pxel density. sglit lng batt m jan ubos agd yan. low end pati ang adreno 203. at wapake ka kng gusto ko mag comment.

          2. haha .. basag .. gunggong ee .. puro yabng lng yan dre .. ako nga may s4 . mas badtrip puro bugs .. nd ako ganu makakonek sa wifi . dumudepend sa router nyeta .. kya nag shift aq sa flame 2.0 astig ee … although kulng ung features pero worth it ung pera mu sa specs ..
