Cherry Mobile quietly released yet another smartphone in the budget category.

But despite the cheap asking price, the Cherry Mobile HD 3 seems to have some surprisingly impressive set of hardware.

Creating a device that belongs to the below-Php3,000 smartphone category is a little tricky. The manufacturer’s hands are limited when developing a smartphone like this. They want to make sure that the device would be really decent enough to keep up with day to day tasks despite its economical price tag.

And Cherry Mobile did a good job in compromising things, just by judging the Cherry Mobile HD 3 on paper. For not a lot of money, they were still able to put a 5-inch HD IPS display, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash and run the latest Android 7.0 Nougat software.

Cherry Mobile HD 3 Specs

  • Android 7.0 Nougat
  • Dual SIM, Dual Standby
  • 5-inch HD IPS display, 1280 x 720 resolution, ~294ppi
  • 1.3GHz quad-core processor
  • Mali 400 GPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB internal storage
  • expandable via microSD up to 32GB
  • 8-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash
  • 5-megapixel front camera with LED flash
  • 3G, HSPA+
  • WiFi
  • Bluetooth
  • GPS

The battery capacity is yet to be announced, but I’m guessing it to be around 1800mAh to 2300mAh. Hopefully, it’ll be larger than that for it to get longer uptime and usage.

The Cherry Mobile HD 3 will be launched with a price of only Php2,999. It will be one of the cheapest Android 7 Nougat handsets when it becomes fully available on authorized stores and dealers nationwide.
