Holy packing sheet! That was more or less my reaction when I saw Cherry Mobile’s post this morning, lol. Cherry Mobile has a few octa-core offerings, but it isn’t normally a brand that you would associate with ultra high performance devices. So when they drop a bomb like this one where they are apparently going to launch the Tegra Note 7, a lot of people are going to take notice.

This isn’t a mid-range tablet with a MediaTek chip under the hood, folks. The Tegra Note 7 is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 4 chipset, which is a high performance chip capable of scoring more than 30,000 in Antutu. It’s a gaming tablet in every sense of the word.

You’re getting a 7 inch WXGA IPS display, 1.8GHz quad core Cortex-A15 processor with a 5th power-saving core, 1GB RAM and 16GB ROM. Interestingly enough, it also comes with a chisel-tip stylus for you creative folks out there.

Internationally, the Tegra Note 7 is priced at only $200, which is about Php8600 after straight conversion. While Cherry Mobile hasn’t released any official pricing yet, local pricing should be around the Php10-11k mark.

Those of you who are interested in checking out the Cherry Mobile Tegra Note 7 will have their change on July 26 at SM City North EDSA where the local brand plans to reveal their rebranded version of the device. There is actually a Google signup doc where you guys can register. I’m certainly curious if they will be able to get it under the Php10K mark!
