Firefly Mobile has announced the latest member of its premium mobile devices – Firefly Mobile GT50.
It’s great to see that our local mobile brands are doing their best to give customers the bang for the buck handsets they deserve. The Firefly Mobile GT50 currently has one of the best hardware specs for under Php3k. It has a 5-inch IPS display, quad-core chipset, and 8GB of expandable storage. Firefly Mobile didn’t specify the screen resolution, which means it’s one of the corners they needed to cut. After all, having these kinds of specs at such a low price is pretty hard to do.
Fortunately, Firefly Mobile didn’t sacrifice the battery department. There’s a decent 2300mAh on the device which can last for a day up or two depending on usage. While it’s definitely serviceable for the most part, don’t expect it to run any of the latest high-end games on the Play Store as it has limited resource. On the good side, it can do typical smartphone tasks like calling and texting, browsing social media and watching videos on YouTube. In short, it’s very good for starters and those who don’t need much in a smartphone.
Although it’s a bit short on some aspects, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow which works well with low-end handsets. It doesn’t have attractive imaging capabilities, having only 2-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras in the front and back.
