Gionee has been releasing a lot of interesting phones lately. The Elife E7 is their flagship smartphone which rocks a Snapdragon 800 processor and a rather hefty price tag. But in case you want something more budget friendly, check out the Pioneer P4.
Gionee Pioneer P4 is the latest entry-level offering from the Chinese company. It has the Gionee Amigo UI, which is really nice to look because of its eye candy look. It’s kinda refreshing as we’ve been getting a lot of stock Android user interfaces from the local brands lately. Don’t get me wrong, I do like stock, but seeing something different once in a while isn’t bad, right? Not only that, Gionee managed to snag several handy software features too.
The front of the Pioneer P4 is dominated by its 4.5-inch FWVGA Display and a set of capacitive buttons just below it. It also has a 2-megapixel front facing camera, earpiece, and ambient light sensor on top. At the back, we’ll find the 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash. Moving towards the bottom is the Gionee branding together with the speaker. Interestingly, all the buttons (power and volume rocker) are on the right and the left side is empty. The 3.5mm earphone jack is the only port on top while the microUSB port is located on the far right at the bottom of the device.
The Amigo UI is a colorful skin. It’s something quite similar to TouchWiz, but with lots of white accents. The transitions are pretty simple and fluid making the device feel really snappy. There’s no noticeable lag while navigating through the UI and everything which is impressive for a budget smartphone like this. I also like the style of the messaging app as well as the built-in power saving mode which offers lots of options to tinker with. On the other side, there’s the revamped look of the drop down notification bar which houses the usual settings toggles plus the all-new Guest mode – a feature that lets you hide private things such as messages, logs, etc. The Gionee P4 is currently running Android 4.2.2 under the skin, but we’ve heard that there are plans for an Android Kitkat update soon.

why they didnt use ips screen??and the battery is so-so…
Mas ok cloudfone exvite 502q, hanep sa camera at 4999 lang
at that price mag starmobile quest nalang kayo… lamang si sm quest sa lahat ng specs.
Yah your right quest is better, but except in the internal memory.
means nothing if the devices memory is expandable. if the large size, ergonomics and poor battery performance is not a concern, the mp rio is also an excellent choice.
I’d go for MP Rio at this price point.
i rather choose flare s2…
Had one. Had it exchaged. Too many bugs with the OS. I could flash another rom, but why would I?
