Honor-30-Pro-Philippines

Honor has finally unveiled its newest smartphones with the Honor 30 series. The Honor 30 and Honor 30 Pro were announced together with the more expensive Honor 30 Pro+.

The Honor 30 Pro is quite similar with the Pro Plus version in terms of processor, and design. Meanwhile, the Honor 30 uses the newest Kirin 985 5G chipset with some specs downgrade and a far lower price tag.

Honor 30 Pro

To start, the Honor 30 Pro has similar screen as that of the more expensive Honor 30 Pro+ version. It comes with a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED display, and a pill-like cutout for the dual-selfie cameras. There is the 32-megapixel main front camera, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. It also has an under-display fingerprint scanner.

At the back is the triple camera setup. The cameras of the Honor 30 Pro are quite similar to the Pro+ version except that its main camera is changed to a 40-megapixel Sony IMX600 sensor. Meanwhile, other cameras are identical. These include the 8-megapixel periscope lens capable of 5x optical and 50x digital zoom, and a 16-megapixel ultrawide shooter.

Internals-wise, it uses the flagship Kirin 990 5G coupled with 8GB RAM. It comes in either 128GB or 256GB internal storage. Moreover, the Honor 30 Pro runs the latest Android 10 with Magic UI 3.10. Unfortunately, there’s no Google Mobile Services here. On the other hand, the device has a 4,000mAh battery which supports 40W wired charging.

At the back, there’s a triple camera setup with a 40-megapixel sensor, an 8-megapixel periscope module and another 8-megapixel ultrawide lens.

Despite being not that exciting, the vanilla version of the series has a somehow interesting part. It is the first device to use a Kirin 985 5G chipset. The said processor features a main Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.58GHz with three other Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.40GHz, and Cortex A55 at 1.84GHz.

The Honor 30 comes in four similar colors as the Pro version. The 6GB+128GB variant costs CNY 2,999 (~Php21,600) while the 8GB+128GB retails for a price of CNY 3,199 (~Php23,000). On the other hand, the most expensive is the 8GB+256GB version at CNY 3,499 (Php25,000).

Honor has yet to announce whether the Honor 30 series will be available in the Philippines.
