After weeks of non-stop hype surrounding the new Mate series, the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are finally official.
The leaks regarding the design are on point. The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are easy to grip, durable, and fingerprint resistant. It also has the symmetrical hyper optical pattern design, which makes it look seamless in the front and back.
As expected, the new 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 debuts on the Huawei Mate 20 series. It’s the first-ever chipset with Cortex-A76 architecture and dual NPU design, boasting up to 75% improvement in single core performance. In addition, Mali-G76 GPU’s performance is up to 46% better than the previous generation. Overall power efficiency is also improved by up to 58%.

Huawei SuperCharge also got an upgrade. Its 40W adapter can charge the phone from 0 to 80% in as fast as 30 minutes. The handset itself can also act as a wireless charger/powerbank, so it can charge other devices from its own battery.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro also has IP68 dust and water resistance while the Mate has an IP53 rating. Some of the most notable differences between the two are the in-display fingerprint reader and screen quality.
