Alongside the new Mate 30 Pro, the Chinese tech giant also revealed the Huawei Mate 30.

The Huawei Mate 30 will have tons of similarities over the more expensive Mate 30 Pro. However, it comes with toned-down features to accommodate the more affordable price tag.

It still has the 40-megapixel RYYB sensor that we also saw on the P30 Pro, and the 8-megapixel telephoto camera from the Mate 30 Pro. However, the 40-megapixel Cine Camera was downgraded to a 16-megapixel ultra-wide shooter.

Huawei also used a Kirin 990 processor on this thing. However, unlike the Kirin 990 5G that the Pro model have, this one has the 4G-only chipset, which has the efficiency cores clocked a little lower.

On the upside, it has 8GB of RAM, although the storage was toned-down to 128GB (versus 256GB).

The display on the Huawei Mate 30 is slightly bigger at 6.62-inches, which utilizes the same OLED panel with HDR10 support. However, unlike the curved “Horizon” display on the Mate 30 Pro, the vanilla model has a flatter screen.

We have a marginally smaller 4,200mAh battery on the Mate 30 Pro. But on the upside, it still has 27W wireless charging support, and 40W via a wired connection. It will also come with Android 10 with EMUI 10, although the inclusion of Google Play Services is yet to be known.
